Terms & Conditions of Business

Item Photos and Colours:

Examples featured on our pages are photographed from our stock. Precise and accurate reproduction of actual colours cannot be garanteed. In addition, colour reproduction on individual monitors varies.

Placing an order:

Orders can be placed online, by telephone, email, or post. We accept most credit and debit cards including Mastercard, Visa, Delta, and Switch. Sterling cheques made payable to Silk Road 88 can be sent to the above address together with your name, address (on the reverse of the cheque), delivery address (if different) and written confirmation of your order.

All prices are shown in sterling (£) include UK VAT at 17.5% unless clearly stated otherwise (I.E. Channel Islands and some BFPO addresses). Please note that for customers wishing to have VAT deducted from their order, they will need to contact us via email prior to placing their order for details on how to do so.  All prices are subject to change without prior notification but this will not affect the price agreed with the customer at the time of ordering.

Orders for Silk Bedding

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the dimensions of the bed are checked before ordering goods. Each page on our site shows standard sizes and dimensions. We are not responsible for additional costs accrued to the customer by incorrect ordering. Please take care!

Please ensure that all the details that you give us are correct, so that we can carry out our obligation to you effectively.

U.K. Dispatch:

Goods will be dispatched within 24 hours of your order once payment has been received.
If the card issuer refuses to authorise payment we will not be liable for any delay and/or non-delivery of the order. No orders will be accepted without a valid card payment in the name of the registered cardholder and its registered address.

An additional period of 5 days should be allowed for cheque clearance. Cards will only be charged at the time of dispatch. All goods to the value of £20 or over will be sent either by 1st Class Recorded Delivery( + £2.50 per order) or Special Delivery( + £9.50 per order) (guaranteed next day by 1.00pm) within the U.K. As all items will carry a reference number which can be provided on request. Delivery of your order will require a signature. Items with a value of less than £20 will be sent standard first class post unless otherwise instructed. In the event of a product being out of stock or unavailable the customer will be notified immediately.

Overseas Dispatch:

Goods will be dispatched within 24 hours of your order once payment has been received. Cards will only be charged at the time of dispatch. Payment by inter-bank transfer will be can be accepted by special arrangement only. All products are despatched via Royal Mail International Signed For. As soon as your purchase is posted we can provide a tracking number by request. Your item can be tracked at: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm

We shall not be liable to you or be deemed in breach of this Agreement by you for any delays in delivery beyond our reasonable control.

Returns & Exchanges:

After you have received your purchases please inspect the goods carefully. If they are faulty in any respect please contact us within 24 hours so that either an exchange or refund can be organised. You have within 7 days to return the items to us. If we receive no notification the customer will be deemed to have accepted the items as satisfactory. We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery or failure to deliver by the courier company or delivery to the wrong address entered on our website by the customer. Liability in those cases is limited to the value of those items, which are shown not to have been received by the customer.

We will refund your money in full excluding the shipping costs providing that goods returned have not been used or washed. They must be in original condition and packing. Any items returned used or washed we are unfortunately unable to refund. If the items show signs that they have been used they will be returned to the sender.The customer is responsible for both the safe return of goods to us and any loss during transit. We will refund or exchange faulty goods within 21 days free of charge.

For Christmas gifts, ordered from November onwards may be exchanged up to the end of January.

Risk of Loss

All items purchased from SilkRoad88 are made pursuant to a delivery contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.

Privacy Policy:

Silk Road 88. is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
This information is used to process your order and to provide you with the best possible service.
We do not share the information we collect with any other organisations.
The type of information we will collect about you includes:

* address
* phone number
* e-mail address
* credit/debit card details (removed after transaction complete)
* order requirements

Non acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:

The product you ordered being unavailable from stock
Our inability to obtain authorization for your payment
The identification of a pricing or product description error.
