Pure silk bedding is cool in summer and warm in winter and is the most luxurious of all fabrics. It has a natural lustre and delicacy to the touch. Our pure silk duvet covers, fitted sheets and pillowcases are very slightly oversized. This is to allow for a small amount of natural shrinkage. Your silk bedding will last for many years provided it is treated with care.
It is very important to point out that jagged nails and rough skin, particularly on feet, will radically accelerate wear and tear. In fact dry skin on the feet is the single most damaging factor! Please wear bed socks in bed if you feel you are scratching the silk. However this can be avoided with regular prophylactic foot care.
We recommend the following procedure:
Firstly file off rough skin with one of the proprietary course emery boards recommended for feet.
Secondly, make sure toe nails are not too long or jagged.
Finally use a good quality foot cream to maintain your feet in really good condition.
From our own experience by far the best products on the market are manufactured in Canada to a special formula and distributed in the UK and Europe by Advanced Care Products www.advancedcareproducts.co.uk and world wide by Dermal Therapy at: www.dermaltherapy.com.
Because the Dermal Therapy products using up to 25% urea have also been developed to treat skin conditions such as diabetes, they are more effective than most other creams available in the usual retail outlets. In the UK our second choice would be Eucerin Dry Skin Relief Foot Cream with 10% Urea. However few products can compare to Dermal Therapy/ACP Heel Care Cream with 25% urea, alpha hydroxy acids and silk protein.
You will be absolutely amazed at the difference 2 or 3 minutes of daily care will make. If you make sure your feet are smooth you will greatly extend the life of you silk bedding.

1. We recommend either hand or machine washing at 30'C. Our silk can easily be machined washed at 30'C with a good silk washing agent. Never use detergents as these will make the silk fibres brittle. Fabric conditioner may be used in the final rinse.
-
2. Some washing machines have a 'Delicate' cycle at 30'C, this may be used. Do not bleach, scrub or wring silk fabric.
-
3. Shake off excess water from the sheets and air dry. We do not recommend tumble drying as this tends to heat and crease the fibres, again making the fibres brittle so shortening the life of the silk sheets.
-
4. Do not dry in sunlight or near radiators. Sunlight will fade silk, especially deeper shades.
-
5. Silk should not be allowed to get too soiled before cleaning, keep the sheets fresh and in good condition with regular cleaning.
-
6. Silk may also be dry-cleaned ( Better option for the silk in darker colours)
-
7. When still damp cool iron on reverse with gentle steam, if required.
A tip for ironing fitted sheets:
Have a good mattress protector on your mattress and when you come to iron the fitted sheet, put the fitted sheet inside out on top of the mattress protector and iron. That way you will get a good finish at the corners and down the sides of the sheet. When done, turn the sheet over to the right side.
