Making a decision based on the Brand of the processor isn't the easiest task in the world.  Have a look at our Processor Section by clicking on the link to the right.  This provides a detailed analysis of each processor and links to performance charts so that you can see visually how each processor compares.

As a general rule of thumb, Sempron and Celeron Processors are preferred for Basic computing whilst Intel's Core 2 Duo,  Quad and Extreme ranges together with AMDs Athlon and Penom series are for performance applications such as gaming, video editing, CAD etc.
